Tax Books in Brazil

As you may be aware, In Brazil there are several types of reports and books that are required:

Monthly tax books:

  • Registro de Entradas (Inbound Invoices report): It reports all inbound invoices such as purchase, import, inbound transfer, etc. This also reports the input taxes as ICMS and IPI.

 

  • Registro de Saídas  (Outbound Invoices report): It reports all outbound invoices as sales, export, outbound transfer etc. This also reports the output taxes as ICMS and IPI.

 

  • Registro de Apuração do ICMS (ICMS return): It reports all inbound and outbound invoices as purchase and sales invoices, the amount of ICMS you can claim, the amount of ICMS you owe and the ICMS refund for the accounting period.

 

  • Registro de Apuração do IPI (IPI return): It reports all inbound and outbound invoices as purchase and sales invoices, the amount of IPI you can claim, the amount of IPI you owe and the IPI refund for the accounting period.

 

Other reports:

  • Registro de Inventário (inventory return): It reports all inventory transactions as the beginning inventory, purchase, cost of goods sold and the ending inventory for both periodic and perpetual inventory.

 

  • Registro de Utilização de Documentos Fiscais e Termos de Ocorrência (tax documents and occurrence report): It reports the types of invoices used by the company or if any invoice is lost or stolen.

 

  • Registro de Controle da Produção e do Estoque (industrial production return): It reports all inventory and manufacturing transactions.
